Chanel Joues Contraste Espiegle came out as a part of Chanel spring 2011 collection. From the first time I saw promo photos for this collection I went crazy about this blush. I knew I will love it. I ordered it sight unseen the first day it showed up online.
It is peachy with a golden sheen to it. I noticed that EU version is way more pink. US version has some pink to it, but very subtle. Espiegle looks more orange in photos than it really is.
Texture is amazing, smooth and silky, blends like a dream. Powder is very finely milled. This is by far my favorite Chanel blush – together with Orchid rose. Color is amazing for spring or summer, although can be worn year around.
Pigmentation is really good and you can’t overdo with the application.
I am so glad it became part of the permanent line.
I am not sure it would show up on darker skin tones, it would probably give just nice warm glow, but for lighter and medium skin tones is must have!
Swatches on NC15/NC20 skin. In Chanel I wear Beige 10/20. Upper one is very heavy swatch. The one on the bottom is blended with a brush.
