With the real cold weather behind us and warmer days are already here, it’s time to start transitioning your beauty routine. Say bye-bye to heavy and thick products and hello to light-as-air lotions, better sun protection, and extra nourishment for your hair. Welcome first day of summer!!
After cocooning under woolly layers since the winter your skin is ready to make its debut—and an exfoliating is a must!!! Even if you exfoliate regularly it is time to up your game and I am sharing today two body exfoliators I have been enjoying lately. Both will leave you with a baby soft and glowy skin. After exfoliating do not forget to moisturize and use body products that tone and firm the skin and my all time favorite is Clarins iconic product that recently got revamped.
Callyssee Buffing Beans Coffee Scrub (22$)
You know how a rich cup of coffee can perk up your morning and make the best day seem even better? Well, a great coffee scrub can do the same thing for your skin. Coffee scrubs are said to have long-term results, including increased circulation near areas of application, improved surface skin cell turnover and reduction in the appearance of bumps and ridges caused by cellulite. Callyssee Cocoa Coffee Scrub is made from Coffee Robusta ground from the whole bean and blended with just the right amount of Brown Sugar and Cocoa Powder. Also added generous amounts of rich Avocado Oil which is frequently used for its skin-nourishing and anti-aging benefits.

Head into summer with healthy hair !Well-nourished strands are better equipped to stand up to the heat, sun, and salt water that come with summer fun. Before swimming in a pool, saturate strands with hair oil first to keep chlorine from soaking into your hair. Post-dip, cleanse to remove any residue. For long walks or stints outside, always wear a hat; it’s still the best way to keep color vibrant. I wanted to show you some products that are new to me as well some that I have been using for couple of years and still loving. Leonor Greyl Huile is my recent biggest discovery and I am loving it as pre shampoo treatment – leaves my hair super soft, nourished and easy to detangle. And it smells heavenly! I will never be without it! Macadamia Hair products I have been using since they launched in the USA. Their hydrating mask and leave in oil treatment reached iconic status – I remember they will sell out so fast it was impossible keeping them in stock.
Huile de Leonor Greyl (59$)
This pre-shampoo oil treatment is most effective if applied to dry hair. It is most effective if applied prior to applying a shampoo or treatment. It is a multi-purpose blend of botanical oils that facilitate detangling, while protecting and nourishing your hair. Refined copra oil which comes from cold-pressed coconut kernels and mongongo oil, extracted from the nuts of an African tree that grows in the Kalahari Desert both possess excellent hydrating, regenerating and restructuring qualities which have been combined to reinvent your global cult favorite. Contains natural UVA/B sun protection filters and protects hair against the damaging effects from seawater and chlorine.
Macadamia Hair Ultra Rich Moisture mask (36$)
Ultra Rich Moisture Masque gives coiled- or coarse-textured hair an instant boost of moisture. It supplies nourishment to damaged, dry hair and strengthens each strand to help repair hair and defend against damage in the future. It locks hydration in and leaves hair shiny, healthy, and restored. From the lush thick texture, to nourishment it provides, to yummy smell… this mask does everything! Tiny bit goes a long way. Paired with the leave in oil treatment (showed below) it will revamp your dry, damaged hair.
Macadamia Hair Ultra rich oil treatment (39.95$)
An ultra rich oil treatment formulated to absorb into the hair strand and deliver intensive hydration. This oil treatment with a silicone-free formula provides instant nutrition and long-term repair while enhancing shine and vibrancy. The antioxidant-rich formula also helps protect the hair from heat, UV and free-radical damage.
ColorProof HumidityRx® Anti-Frizz Weatherproof Spray (29$) and RadicallySmooth® Anti-Frizz Serum (28$) are both new products to me but if you leave in hot and super humid climate like me you would appreciate any help to keep your hair style looking it’s best. After all the pre shampoo treatments, masks, leave in moisture… you need something for finishing and these two have been my go to products lately. Serum is a bit thicker while spray is super lightweight and I think works better for my fine hair. This next generation serum instantly smoothes for long-lasting, frizz-free style with full spectrum UVA/UVB color and heat protection. Feather-light, heat-activated formula effortlessly tames and defies while reducing drying time. This weightless frizz-fighting, fine mist spray repels moisture and locks out humidity while maintaining your style all day long even in the most humid climates. Revolutionary water repelling polymers envelop hair for the ultimate in frizz control. Advanced ColorLast SystemTM provides unsurpassed color and heat protection. Weather or not, brave the elements with confidence.
And at last – WEAR SUN PROTECTION!!
Companies have been creating lighter, less greasy formulas for years, but the latest category – tinted sun protection or physical sunscreens are my picks for this summer. Both are ultralight, they quickly sink into skin and don’t deposit a chalky finish, so you can seamlessly apply makeup on top. What’s more, “broad-spectrum” coverage ensures protection from both UVB rays (which burn) and UVA rays (which contribute to skin cancer and aging). A good sunscreen is the best way to prevent wrinkles and skin spots. In case I am not wearing any face makeup (which happens often when you have small children) I opt for tinted version that gives me both protection and evens out my skin tone. I also like physicial sunscreens more over the chemical ones – they are easier to wash off, more gentle on skin and give great uva/uvb protection (also I use this kind of suncreen on my kids too).
Avene Complexion Correcting Shield SPF 50+ (36$)
Combines the maximum protection of 100 % mineral broad spectrum sunscreen with the complexion-perfecting and hydrating properties of a tinted moisturizer. Enhanced with soft focus microspheres to instantly blur imperfections for flawless, healthy-looking skin.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral Sunscreen (33.50$)
La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid is a revolutionary SPF with a dual-protecting formula. An advanced filtering system, featuring titanium dioxide, delivers long-wearing broad-spectrum protection while patent-pending Cell-Ox Shield combats environmental damage. The light texture dissolves instantly into the skin for a satin finish. Fragrance- and paraben-free, this non-comedogenic formula is water-resistant and is ideal for all skin types.
Wishing you great summer ahead!!!
