Last couple of years I have been investing in a good sunscreen for face. First I used Clinique, then Shiseido – LOVED both and this summer I decided to try Lancome. This is my first time trying their SPF from Bienfait line which I adore – I have both day and night cream from this line.
Bienfait UV 50+ is extremely lightweight lotion. It has very thin, almost watery consistency that spreads easily and when rubbed in doesn’t leave white cast. It has natural semi matte finish on the skin. Feels like nothing to be honest with you. I think time of the heavy white looking SPF is gone, thankfully. You get the protection you need but with light feel. Bingo. I do not use this under my makeup on a daily basis but you could easily do it since it’s so lightweight. It can replace your regular moisturizer during summer months. I know some wear high SPF year around. I do not. Especially since I am barely ever outside intentionally in the sun. I will not suffocate my skin with all the chemicals while sitting indoors all the time. No thanks.
But if I am going for a walk or will spend day on the beach, playing sports or just in the park yes I like to protect my face. More protection less wrinkles. I had 3 years ago huge scare from the dermatoligst – she was sure I have melanoma and it hit me pretty hard. Everything ended up well and she was wrong but it was reality check for me.
Packaging is thin, sleek bottle with small nozzle kind of opening on the top. You need to shake it well and it’s easy to control the amount of product coming out. It is runny so make sure you don’t loose half of the product. I like to gently rubbed it and warm it up against my fingers and then gently apply it on my face.
This is the highest SPF I’ve ever used. Before that I’ve never used higher than 30. Today I was out in the park wearing this and yes I managed to get a little bit of a tan without a sunburn. I know a lot of women do not wear SPF because they claim you can’t tan if you wear SPF. That makes no sense. Yes you will tan but you won’t burn.
There is no way I will ran out of this by the end of summer since it’s 1.7 oz / 50 and little goes a long way.
This is also oil free for all of you out there with oily, sensitive and acne prone skin.
Overall another great product from Bienfait line. I am glad I tried it.
