Versatile and multi-purpose, Cream Colour Base can be applied directly to bare skin, or layered over foundation, moisturizer, or powder. Apply with a brush, sponge, or fingers. Colour effects range from a light veil to highly dramatic, depending on method of application. Fragrance-free.
MAC Hush is my first and only Cream color base (hopefully not the last one). It is described as soft peach with icy shimmer. It is part of MAC’s permanent range. Cream color bases are multi-purpose products that are supposed to be used under or over your foundation, powder, underneath your blush or over it as a highlight. I like wearing Hush over pink or peachy blushes as a highlighting but it’s also awesome over liquid foundation but before powder blush to enhance the color of the blush. It also helps if the blush texture is too dry and powdery , it acts as a “magnet” and holds the product better.
It can be worn also on your eyes or lips. I honestly haven’t tried any of these. It might be nice on eyes, just all over eyelids as sheer wash of color. I have a feeling it would crease on oily lids if worn without a primer.
MAC cream color bases are somewhat similar to NARS Multiples. I had no problem with applying or blending. Texture is creamy but not thick cream or sticky cream. When applied with fingers or a brush (I used MAC 159) it is easy to blend and does not “pull” the product that is applied over.
It comes in a standard MAC black round packaging and it’s slightly smaller size than their standard blush size.
Hush is everything I could hope for from a peachy highlighter. I call it highlighter just because that’s the main purpose I use it for. But it is really versatile product. It makes dull skin glow, very subtle and without shimmer or glitter. It is subtle enough even for someone who doesn’t usually use highlighters.
I would love to also try Pearl. Cream color bases retail for 20$
