MAC Studio Quiktrik Stick is a double-ended, multi-use stick for highlighting, contouring, bronzing or adding a pop of color. They were finally released at the end of October, following their release being moved from August when they suddenly disappeared from the website. I tried multiple times getting info on these from MAC without success. MAC jumped on the creamy stick do-it-all bandwagon after NARS and Dior recently released their versions of the product.
Studio Quiktrik Stick comes in 6 shade combination and I picked up two of the lightest ones:
Softly Does It: Very light pink shimmer / Tight and Tawny: Light taupe
This is the perfect combination for lighter skin tone that leans cool or neutral since the “countouring” side is not as warm as the other options. It is described as taupe. On me it does maybe pull a bit warmer because of my skin tone (NC15). Highlighting side is beautiful cool toned pink shimmer with silver base (think NARS copacabana multiple).
Bare End: Light golden champagne shimmer / Earthnut: Muted medium beige
Countouring side is definitely a lot warmer than the Tight and tawny – even though it doesn’t appear like that in photos (they look pretty similar almost identical). I think it will work great for NC25 and up – lighter to medium skin tones that lean warm. When I opened highlighting side my heart skipped a beat – beautiful light golden champagne.
Both MAC Studio Quiktrik Sticks are pigmented, creamy and easy to apply and blend. Due to it’s creaminess I think it would better suit normal to dry skin while combo /oily might struggle with it not “setting” completely. My suggestion is using translucent setting powder like MAC prep+prime since it won’t interfere with the color and will tone the “creaminess” down. They are definitely creamier than NARS multiple. NARS formula is lighter, airier but Quiktrik Stick I feel blends easier. I had no problem with wear time or fading but keep in mind I have zero oil on my face.
Btw gorgeous packaging, very sleek and great to carry for touch ups or travel (tsa friendly).
Other shades in the range are bright pink, bright coral, burgundy, copper sparkle… they can definitely be used as a creamy blush . I didn’t want to order any of these without trying first at the counter.
