Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo features two shades that merge together so you can customize your color for a sexy, natural-looking glow. Achieve a dance-floor flush with this blush that’s infused with Japanese air powder for the ultimate cheek look. This ultra-lightweight, radiant powder is nearly undetectable to the touch, and gives your skin a radiant finish. Air Blush is created using a process called soufflage (French for “air-whipped”) for a silky-soft, cream-like texture that blends effortlessly with the complexion.
So far I have tried only couple of Marc Jacobs beauty products that I received as samples (minis with purchase) and they were all top notch. His Velvet noir mascara is wonderful as well as Highliner gel crayon. This is my first full sized purchase from Marc Jacobs and I can tell you I am very impressed. You can see a lot of thought went into every detail – from packaging that is beautiful, sleek, looks and feels luxurious to the actual product inside.
I haven’t tried his previous collection of blushes but was excited to try the new and improved version “air blush”. I love that it features two shades that you can either apply separately (will definitely need smaller more precise cheek brush for that) or you can blend them together. Also depending from which side you move your brush (left to right or opposite) it will emphasize either darker or lighter shade.
Texture seems a bit firm at first because powder is very tightly pressed into the pan but actually it is soft and silky and there is no powder kick up. Application is effortless and it melds into the skin seamlessly. I picked up the lightest shade 506 Flesh & Fantasy: soft ivory shimmer and a tawny light bronze. I am always attracted to these kind of shades since they are easy to work with when you have light skin and I think they are easy to incorporate in most makeup looks. It is almost a cross between a blush and a bronzer. This particular color in most of the swatches I have seen looks warmer and more brown than it actually is. It has this mauve undertone to it once applied that it makes it a bit more special not just straight beige bronze. Even though in the pan color doesn’t look to exciting once applied it really brightens up the complexion.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Air blush soft glow duo retails for 42$ and I have purchased mine at Sephora (available at Neiman Marcus also). Price is on the higher side and on par with some other high end brands like Chanel but it is so worth it because of it’s quality and the amount of blush you get – 8 grams compared to average 4-6 grams.
