I am not a Hello kitty fan nor I planned to pick up anything from this collection but oh well I caved and got 3 shades – 2 that I would usually like from any other collection and 1 that was unique enough to justify the purchase. The whole collection is very girly and packaging is in my opinion cute although I did hear a lot of negative comments that it should be more “hello kitty” not just on the cap. There are a lot of soft and cream pink shades in this collection that are not really my cup of tea.
Charmmy&Sugar – I don’t have anything even similar to this in my collection and I find it very weird. It is almost like a pearly (light golden) foil that has so much multi colored reflective shimmer that makes it impossible to photograph. It is much nicer in real and really eye catching. Here I am wearing three thin coats. But the main reason I bought it is seeing swatches of this over dark nail polish – it really makes it look special.
5 apples tall – (that’s not far from how tall I really am) – bright poppy red. OPI knows how to make an amazing red. Unique? Not really. Decent formula not the greatest but it’s ok. I am wearing 2 coats. I wish it is a bit more opaque because I could still see my nail line after 2 coats.
Spoken from the heart – I’ve read some descriptions calling this “corally” but honestly to me it has nothing coral in it – it’s simply bright pink. Formula is similar to 5 apples tall maybe even thinner and definitely more sheer. You can still see my nail line after 3 thin coats. Even though both of them have thinner formula application was really good, easy and even. No bold spots.
I Have not been a fan of OPI limited edition collections in the past 5 years at least – especially the ones inspired by cartoons, movies, celebrities etc… I love a lot of OPI permanent colors that should be staples in every collection. Hello Kitty collection is just ok. I could have easily skipped all 3 colors. They were hard to hunt down since Ultas only got one half of the collection so I had to get them on ebay.
