I have been wearing The Body shop Instablur primer for the past week and wanted to share my thoughts with you. I wore it before couple of different liquid foundations and found it works well with different formulas. It is your basic silicone based makeup primer but has texture that is slightly smoother and more lightweight almost airy than most of the primers on the market. It goes on clear and does really good job smoothing lines and pores – I especially liked how it fills my pores on my nose and cheeks. When applied all over makes very nice canvas for any liquid or powder foundation you wear. It did help my foundation stay on longer in humid and warm weather. I have been out and about for the past week and would wear makeup for 10 hours or longer and most of it was outside in the sun.
It is hybrid between Benefit porefessional – when it comes to pore smoothing and Lancome La base pro or Smashbox photo finish foundation for overall effect of prepping the skin for makeup.
This would work great on oily and combination skin for that matte long lasting look. I am not into matte since my skin has some dry spots, but I made sure to moisturize well before applying Instablur and didn’t experience any enhancement of my dry spots (which some mattyfing primers can do).
