Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo 001 Moodlight

Tom Ford created this highlighting and illuminating powder duo to capture the two most flattering types of natural light on the skin—a soft white shade is like the luminous glow of daylight and a radiant golden shade is like the romantic illusion of candlelight. These lightly shimmering shades can be applied individually or layered together to create a multidimensional glow.

My Tom Ford collection is small but everything I have tried is exceptional. Mister Ford made amazing product again that flew off the shelves which is no surprise at all. I was able to get my hands on this beautiful piece at Neiman Marcus. I knew I will love it based on the promotional photos and initial swatches of ReallyRee.
Moodlight has Tom Ford’s signature casing that feels heavy and luxurious and is the same size as his eyeshadow quads. I love the combination of dark brown with a touch of gold.
Top lighter shade is less pigmented than the bottom darker one but it blends in so nicely with the lighter skin tone that it almost looks like skin naturally has that healthy glow. No large shimmer particles but more of a very complex iridescent sheen.
Darker shade is very pigmented and on my lighter skin it shows up more like a soft bronzer – it is such a pretty bronzey-peach champagne shade. It is also shimmery but when transferred on skin it just has the most perfect glow.
I applied Moodlight with MAC 165 brush (darker shade) and then MAC 138 for lighter shade and two blend these two together. Honestly it could work well with any brush because product is pigmented enough without any powder fall out. It almost feels like “gel to powder formula”.
I do not have any duos like this in my collection but similar effect can be achieved with a bronzer and for example MAC Lightscapade. Obviously there is a need for using more than one product which makes Moodlight convenient and easy to use or carry around/travel with it.
Price is steep I am not gonna lie – 80$ for this beautiful piece. Worth it? YES. I am almost willing to say this is back up worthy.
For now Moodlight is listed as Limited edition. I would love to see this as a part of TF permanent line.
