One of the most volumizing mascaras by Yves Saint Laurent is The Shock Mascara. It adds maximum volume to each lash in just one stroke without clumping. The hourglass-shaped brush allows the special shock formula to coat lashes evenly. This long-wear mascara offers intense color and delivers significant lashes that stay smudge-free.
Compared to other YSL mascaras I’ve tried, The Shock stands out as the best so far. I always look for dramatic results from mascaras, and The Shock meets my expectations. It seems to target a younger audience, evident in its packaging that resembles Too Faced products. The brush is similar to Too Faced Better Than Sex and Noir, known for providing significant volume. In my experience, YSL’s formula outperforms others like MJ, offering more volume with fewer coats and no flaking issues.
I haven’t experienced any flaking or smudging with YSL The Shock mascara, which is crucial to me. I usually curl my lashes with Lancome Le Curler before applying two coats of The Shock. It builds up nicely without clumping and keeps short, straight lashes lifted all day. The only downside is its strong lingering scent, which may bother those with sensitive eyes.
In combination with other YSL products like Touche Eclat Foundation and Touche Eclat, The Shock mascara creates a bright, even-toned complexion with bold lashes. Overall, The Shock is a fantastic mascara that lives up to its promises and has earned a spot in my top three alongside Lancome Hypnose and Guerlain Cils D’enfer. Priced at $29, it’s available at Sephora and most department stores.
I received YSL The Shock mascara for free from Influenster, but my opinions are my own.
