Chanel Joues Contraste blush 280 Golden Sun

Lately Chanel has been kicking it out of the park with their new blush releases. First Alezane (reviewed here ), now Golden sun and Coups de minuit to follow.  I purchased all three and absolutely love them! So happy to see Chanel stepping away from pink only (although they do amazing pink blushes).

Golden sun is perfect shimmery beige nude that will warm up lighter complexions and give enough color while on darker complexions I can see this being beautiful highlighter.
Color is neutral enough to work on both warmer and cooler skin tones. I am very pleasantly surprised by it. Yes it is not terribly unique color but it is a basic staple that anyone needs in their stash.

The first thing that came to my mind when I purchased it is how similar is it to Accent? Since Accent was limited edition and many didn’t get chance to buy it here is quick comparison – Golden sun is more beige and less mauve than Accent. Are they very different? Not. Dupes? Not completely. But do you really need both? Probably not.
Golden sun is not as warm as Alezane and shimmer in it is more refined. Jersey is in the same group with Accent and Golden sun but has a hint of peach to it.

Texture wise it’s a 10! Soft, silky, blends easily, doesn’t fade throughout the day. Shimmer is more noticeable in the pan but when transferred onto skin it just gives that famous “chanel glow”.

Chanel blushes retail for 43$ and I purchased mine at Nordstrom.
